Customer Guide

Overview

On the interlace platform, we associate a customer to your end-customer, or application user for which you are offering a financial product. A customer is the individual or business that opens an account with your brand, logs into your application or makes purchases or payments.

The Customer Pack includes the services, events and schemas associated with the verification, creation, inquiry, and maintenance of your customers.

We understand it is important to not only create customer records but also maintain the relationship with your customer and support their servicing needs.

At a summary level, the services and schemas for the Customer Pack include the ability to collect customer information, verify the customer, and create a customer on the system of record. Once you have an active customer, you can then handle customer servicing through our expanded set of customer maintenance features.

Schema

The following chart shows the data relationship between the customer object and additional interlace objects related to the customer.

Use Cases

The following chart shows the service interactions between the customer object and the additional interlace objects.

Verify Customer

To comply with finance regulations, once you collect your customer’s personal information, you must initiate a Know-Your-Customer (KYC) request to verify the customer’s information and usually consists of a process of identity verification to confirm the link between their entered information and existence of customer evidence of public and private records and then to authenticate the person entering this information via information that the customer should only know.

To verify a customer, please refer to the Customer section in our API reference.

Create Customer

Once a customer’s information is verified, you can make a call to create the customer record on the system of record. This is done in real-time. Upon creating a customer record, you can then add accounts, cards and product services for this customer, leading to transactional activity.

To create a customer, please refer to the Customer section in our API reference.

Customer List

For your application use cases, you will have instances where you need to perform inquiry requests to gather a list of your customers and request details of a specific customer. These details, that the customer entered during the onboarding process, are stored in a customer profile. You can request the customer profile data for individual customer IDs.

To retrieve a customer list, please refer to the Customer section in our API reference.

Update Customer

There will be use cases where you will need to update a customer’s profile. This may include updating contact information, the customer’s status, or consent to data sharing or electronic disclosures for instance. To perform an update, you can request the customer’s profile to display to the user, if applicable, and allow them to make an update. This modified data can then be updated back to the system of record using the interlace API.

To update a customer, please refer to the Customer section in our API reference.

Create Account

A verified customer that has a customer record on the system of record can then open new accounts or link external accounts for the purposes of performing transactions. This can include adding a debit card, performing transactions, making payments, or requesting account servicing requests.

To create an account, please refer to the Account section in our API reference.
